What is Beater-Xsm?

Beater-X Racing Our Beater-Xsm Series is an entry level/grassroots form of auto racing consisting of compact cars and small trucks competing head to head on an all dirt race track. Adding to the excitement is a track layout that utilizes small rolling jumps, elevation changes, and tight corners to create an extreme form of auto racing the average guy can compete in. Cars will be lined up on a tiered starting line and race to the checkered flag. Think of it as motocross with a car! ERX will be hosting its Beater-Xsm Series as a Thursday night, under the lights 6 race series. Points will be awarded at each event leading up to an overall Beater-Xsm Champion in each class.

This is the opportunity for all you NASCAR, dirt track fans to compete in an inexpensive form of auto racing. What does it take to get involved in Beater-X? Not much, all you need to get in the action is a qualifying car or truck, and a helmet!

Now is the time to start looking for your racing vehicle. Review the list below of the current class offerings as well as a handful of suggested types and models of vehicles. In order to help first time racers and car builders, ERX has lined up local welders who will outfit your vehicle with an approved roll cage system for aprox. $200 per car or truck. Take a look at our Beater-Xsm rules page for additional information regarding vehicle requirements.

Beater-X Fans You don’t have to just be a racer to enjoy our Beater-Xsm competition. Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on your favorite Beater-Xsm driver. Outside bleacher seating is available and you can always get out of the weather in our new ERX Motor Park Chalet. VIP booth rental is also available. A wide variety of food and beverage concession will be available at the track during all six series races.

2:00pm-4:00pm - Registration and tech inspection
4:00pm-4:15pm - Drivers meeting in ERX Chalet (attendance required*)
4:15pm-4:45pm - Hot laps - 2 laps (attendance required*)

*Drivers who do not attend the drivers meeting at 4:00pm or practice laps at 4:15pm WILL NOT be permitted to race.

5-Point Harness Now Required

Effective immediately -- For saftey purposes we are now requiring a mandatory 5-point harness system for all Beater-Xsm drivers. More information on 5-point harness & race seats can be found at www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com. Contact Katie with any questions.

Harnesses are recommended but not required for UTVs.

Class List

Compact #1 - 4 cylinder, front wheel drive, single overhead cam. No DOHC, no turbos, no superchargers.
Compact #2 - 4 & 6 cylinder stock, front wheel drive. OEM-equipped turbos, superchargers allowed. Must be OEM stock engine.
Trucks - 4 & 6 cylinder light trucks, one size below a half-ton truck, rear wheel drive only. Includes but is not limited to: Chevy S-10 Blazer, S-10 Truck; Ford Ranger, Bronco II; Dodge Dakota, Dakota-based SUV; Small Toyota, Nissan or Mazda trucks. 4WD trucks allowed, front drive axle must be disconnected.
Women’s - Open to any car or truck legal to run in the Beater-Xsm competition at ERX.
UTV Stock - up to 800cc stock engine, stock suspension. Stock, commercially available UTV.
UTV Open - 1000cc maximum, open suspension and engine mods. Must be two-seater UTV, commercially available.

Registration: Pre-register to guarantee a spot in the action!

Pre-registration is highly recommended as this will be a limited format race and we will be forced to limit class sizes. Registration is only $30 if you register by noon the day before the race. You may register at the track the day of the race but it will run you $40 and you will not be guaranteed a place in the action. A downloadable registration form is available here.
