Extremity Games Adaptive Snocross Clinic and Race AnnouncedDisabled Athletes from Around the US will come to Minnesota to Learn from the Best and Compete in First Ever Extremity Games SnocrossElk River, MN (December 16, 2010) – Extremity Games, an extreme sports competition for athletes with limb loss or limb difference, will host the first-ever Adaptive Snocross Clinic December 29, 2011 at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota, with a race to follow Thursday, December 30. Winter X Games Adaptive Snocross Gold Medalist “Monster” Mike Schultz will run the clinic, along with help from Silver Medalist Jim Wazny.
“Hosting the Extremity Games race and clinic seemed like the perfect fit for ERX,” said spokesman Pat Bourgeois. “We want ERX to be a place where everyone feels at home. Many of us know Mike (Schultz) personally and his perseverance and determination has been nothing short of amazing. To have the opportunity to watch Mike and other gifted adaptive athletes compete will be both exciting and inspiring.” All athletes with limb loss or limb difference are invited to attend both the clinic and Extremity Games race. Cost for the clinic is $150, which includes a special session on starts, cornering techniques, moguls, and jumps, in addition to two off-track segments that cover mental and sled preparation. Monster Mike Schultz and Jim Wazny have been invited back to compete in the Adaptive Snocross competition at ESPN’s Winter X Games 15 in Aspen, Colorado, January 27-30, 2011. Other invited riders are Jesse Gildea, Doug Henry, Chris Heppding and Jeff Tweet. This is the third consecutive Adaptive Snocross race at Winter X Games.
